Lucy R. Lippard, author of 24 books, will speak on the influences impacting her writing throughout her career. She’ll read from fellow writers, such as J.B Jackson, the great New Mexico essayist as she shares how her knowledge of art has been directly influenced by artists. Her talk is in conjunction with the La Sala exhibit Under the Influences: New Mexico Artists and their Influences.

Lucy R. Lippard is a writer/activist/sometime curator, author of 24 books on contemporary art, activism, feminism, place, photography, archaeology, and land use, including Undermining: A Wild Ride through Land Use, Politics and Art in the Changing West (2014) and Down Country: The Tano of the Galisteo Basin, 1250-1782,( 2010). Pueblo Chico: Land and Lives in Galisteo New Mexico Since 1814  will come out in the fall. For 22 years she has edited the monthly community newsletter, El Puente de Galisteo.
